Monarch Technical Assistance

The Sutter County RCD team has been working with locals in our area to help educate them on the importance of Monarchs and their habitat. We have spoken and met with individuals interested in restoring Monarch habitats, and have provided information on which milkweed plants are native to our area and why we should plant those specific plants along with having a variety of other native pollinator plants, as they promote diversity in a monarch/pollinator habitat. The RCD also helps plan out what is needed for the plants to survive, such as irrigation and planting methods, with the correct and current information on the topic of the Monarch habitat, here at the Sutter County RCD we believe that we can educate our community and get them to plant milkweed for the benefit of restoring an endangered species which in this case is the Monarch Butterfly..
